Billy Buckskin Primer
Series Overview
Billy Buckskin Western was a western title pumped out by Atlas Comics. It was trying to cash in historical figure Davy Crockett who had become a pop-culture icon at the time. What can I saw about this series? It’s not good. What sets it apart from other western titles of the time was the era it was placed in. While most western titles take place in the late 1800s, Billy Buckskin — I think — takes place during the Mexcian-American War of the 1840s.
It didn’t last longer than three issues and the character was downloaded to other anthology western titles until, I’m guessing, the left over inventory of Billy Buckskin stories were exhausted.
Is Billy and his pals part of Marvel Continuity? There have been no mentions of the character since. Still, it’s not a stretch since Billy’s adventures doesn’t conflict with any other established continuity.
