Jungle Tales Primer
Series Overview
Jungle Tales was an anthology series that focused on jungle adventures as these types of stories were becoming popular at the time. Through its seven issue run it featured a consistent run of stories including Jann of the Jungle, Waku - Chief of the Bantu, Cliff Mason the so-called “White Hunter” as well “The Unknown Jungle” which featured stories about random jungle animals getting into antics.
Are these stories considered part of continuity? Jann of the Jungle has been confirmed as existing in the mainstream Marvel Universe as she had made some brief appearances in Agents of Atlas. The other characters have not been seen since, but considering that most recurring characters have reappeared every once and a while when copyrights need to be renewed. I don’t know how much interest there is in Waku or a wealthy trophy hunter, but whatever. I’ve included them. After 7 issues the title was renamed Jann of the Jungle a series that mostly focused on the popular female jungle adventurer.
