Series Overview
Speed Carter, Spaceman like Space Squadron before it, was a bullshit science fiction series from the Atlas era of comics that people hardly remember. It was cashing in on the popularity of science fiction television shows that you wouldn’t know unless you were born in an era where lead based paint was a delicious treat for kids. This series in particular can be summarized best by taking the “white people going around showing themselves superior to other cultures” that was popular in the jungle adventure genre and applying it to science fiction. Speed Carter and a team of very white space explorers would go around and impose the will of the entire planet Earth on the universe.
Is this show part of Marvel continuity? Absolutely! As revealed in Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z #2, the adventures of Speed Carter take place in an alternate reality,this reality is designated as Reality-5391.
