Captain America Comics Primer
Series Overview
Like the Human Torch and Sub-Mariner, Captain America was revived in 1954 when Atlas Comics tried to reboot their superhero titles. Captain America Comics was brought back and continued under its original numbering. Captain America went from punching Nazis to punching communists. The series wasn’t that great, the only notable thing about it is that the art was drawn by John Romita, Sr.
What else can be said about this series? Well I guess I could repeat, for the millionth time, that these comics do not feature Steve Rogers and James Barnes as Captain America and Bucky, but imposters posing as them. What? You never read Avengers #4 and What If? #4 before? Get with the program. Captain America #155 specifies that the 50s Captain America are William Burnside and Jack Munroe.
Anyway, the title sucked it cancelled after 3 issues.
