Betrayal!

Doctor Myron McLean is testing the durability of his newest invention, a metal alloy called Adamantium, by having the Avengers attack it.The miracle metal withstands attacks from Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, Iron Man’s repulsor rays, and a punch from Goliath at his full size. The whole time this test is being conducted the Vision begins feeling a strange sensation that is clouding his mind and wanders off. McLean tells the Avengers that the material can only be restructured using a special device.

He ends up going to the grave of Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man, the man whose brain patterns make up the Vision’s mind.[1] This once again makes the Vision wonder his humanity. That’s when a voice in his head convinces him what to do next.

Meanwhile, back at Avengers Mansion, Yellowjacket and the Wasp worry about the Vision may have gone. Hank, in particular, wonders if they can still trust the android since they hardly know anything about him. Downstairs, Goliath and Thor are in the control booth watching Iron Man going through a training session. When the weapons inside the training room start going haywire, it cannot be shut down. Iron Man manages to destroy the the weapons but his armor was damaged in the process. At that moment, the Vision has been compelled to attack the SHIELD helicarrier where he steals the sample of Adamantium. He is able to get past the guards by knocking them out with his phasing powers.

Back at the mansion, Yellowjacket arrives as Thor and Goliath are pulling Iron Man out of the training room. Discussing what happened, they all suspect that the Vision might have been responsible. That’s when they hear a cry for help upstairs. There they find the Wasp on the floor and they are ambushed by the Vision. As the Avengers fight their comrade, he is able to hold his own by changing his density where he can shrug off even the most powerful attack by Thor. This battle is merely a distraction, and the Vision explains that he stole the sample of Adamantium to rebuild his master. It’s then when Ultron-6 comes smashing up through the floor in his new hover chair.[2]
