Black Rider Primer
Series Overview
The Black Rider series, starting with issue #8, took over numbering from All-Western Winners and focused primarily on stories about (surprise, surprise) the Black Rider. The first two issues of the series featured backup stories featuring Nemo the mountain lion. The rest of the series up until issue #17 featured on-off western stories.
The series did not do much in the way of character development. Like a lot of western titles of the time each story usually ended with the status quo being restored. The only notable stories were issue #10, which retold the origin of the Black Rider, and issue #12 which had the Black Rider leave Leadville to become a traveling doctor/masked vigilante for a time.
