Blaze Carson Primer
Series Overview
Blaze Carson was a solo title given to a character previously known only as “The Sheriff” who made hide first appearance in Two-Gun Kid #1. This series gave the character a name, which I’m sure sounded super cool in the 1940s but just sounds silly today. What can be said about Blaze Carson? Not a whole lot other than the fact that he is one of Marvel’s “forgotten” western heroes from the Timely Era. Each issue featured him maintaining the law in the town of Red Dog. The series had regular backup features featuring Tex Taylor, Tex Morgan, and Thank-God-Somebody-Who-Isn’t-Named-Tex Two-Gun-Kid. After five issues the series was cancelled and Blaze Carson hasn’t really been seen since.
