Argon Walks the Earth

Confined to a SHIELD mental health facility, the Falcon was undergoing treatment when it came under attack by Agron — an time-traveler made of energy from centuries in the future who now inhabits a human being.[1] His power growing and now able to speak, Agron announces his intentions of conquering this era for himself. After blasting Falcon with his powerful energies, Agron then clashes with facility security.

As SHIELD scrambles to contain the monster, data collected by an early scan of Agron’s brainwaves have revealed evidence that proves that he is a creature from the future. Going over the images, Doctor Hartman learns that Agron was a being made of energy that existed on a near dead Earth millions of years in the future. Escaping into the past, Agron then took possession of a cadaver in a morgue.

With security unable to contain the threat, a distress call is sent out to Captain America. Steve Rogers is sitting in his hotel room waiting for a call from Sharon Carter so they can make up after their recent argument. That’s when he receives the distress call which interrupts a television broadcast to reach him. Changing into costume, Captain America races to the scene just as Agron breaks free from the facility. The battle spilling out onto the busy street, Captain America finds himself ordering gawkers to run for cover and remaining on the defensive. That’s when the Falcon arrives to lend a hand. Exposure to Agron’s energy blasts managed to reverse the brainwashing he was subjected to by the Night People and he is back to normal.[2] The sustained attacks of the two heroes forces Agron to flee his physical body so it can channel its full power.

By this time, SHIELD has arrived with a containment unit and Falcon uses his flying skill to lure the creatue into the device, trapping it and ending its threat.

Continuity Notes

  1. The possible future that Agron hails from is indexed as Reality-76216, as revealed in the Falcon entry of Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z #4.

  2. Falcon was captured and brainwashed by the Night People in Captain America #201-203.

Topical References

  • References to the Modern Age existing in the 20th Century should be considered topical. The Sliding Timescale has pushed the Modern Age forward to the point where it does not begin until after the start of the 21st Century.

  • The TV in Steve Rogers’ hotel room is depicted as a CRT television. This should be considered topical since this is an obsolete technology.
