Cat-Man Comics Primer
Series Overview
Cat-Man Comics was a series published by Holyoke Publishing, it continued its numbering from from Crash Comics. The company stopped publishing comics in 1948 and the characters eventually entered into public domain. The character called Volton was later adopted by Marvel Comics in Roy Thomas’ Invaders (Vol. 2) limited series.
Like a lot of the other public domain characters that Marvel has adopted there is no clear answer on if the old Volton stories published by Holyoke are considered part of Marvel canon. However, there is nothing that conflicts with what Marvel has done with the character so there’s no reason why it can’t. So I’ll leave it up to you readers.
