While out on patrol, Combat Kelly and Cookie Novak hear a Korean woman crying for help and rush to investigate. They find some Chinese soldiers with two captured resistance fighters who have nooses tied around their necks. Combat and Cookie come to their aid, wiping out the enemy soldiers. They free the prisoners and and learn that the enemy leader, General Tong, managed to escape. Combat and Cookie learn from the freed prisoners that Tong has the secret plans for a new weapon, and that he was trying to kill them because they had found out about it.

When Combat and Cookie agree to help the resistance fighters follow after Tong, the female of a the pair -- Ling -- finds Tongs foot prints and they trace them back to the enemy base where he is hiding out. Although the base is heavily guarded, Combat manages to give them the upper hand when he tosses a grenade into the ammo store house, blowing up most of the guards outside. The quartet then storm into the nearby cabin and take General Tong prisoner.

They escape the scene and hideout in a nearby cave where Ling unbuttons Tong's shirt to reveal part of the plans have been tattooed on his chest. The resistance fighters tell Combat and Cookie that they know where the rest of the plans are kept and will help find them in the morning. They all go to sleep with a guard on duty. Later that night, Combat and Cookie awaken to hear a struggle between Ling and her partner. They rush to where the fight is but are too late to prevent Ling from shooting her male counterpart. Combat quickly disarms her but she points out that her fellow "resistance fighter" was really one of the communists and that part of the weapon plans were tattooed on his chest as well. Combat gives her the gun back, but she quickly turns it on the two Americans as well. She explains that she and her husband were really communist agents and that they were all given part of the plan due to the fact no one person could have been trusted with it.

She then tries to shoot Combat and Cookie and is shocked to find that her weapon is not loaded. Combat then explains that he unloaded the gun when he took it away from her, pointing out that he realized she was lying to him when he saw that the back of her blouse was ripped open fighting with her husband and that he saw the tattoo of her part of the plans on her back. Combat and Cookie then force Ling and Tong to carry their dead comrade back to the American base so that the secret plans can be deciphered.

Operation Shingle!

January 22, 1944, Combat and Cookie are assigned with the 5th Armory on a mission to the beaches of Anzio, Italy. There they are assigned to destroy a massive Nazi artillery cannon the Allies have nicknamed Anzio Aggie. Dropping on the cannon from above, Combat shoves a package of explosives down the barrel of the cannon while Cookie gives him cover fire. The two hold their own against the Nazi soldiers until the explosives go off destroying the enemy weapon. They then rush back to Captain Thorn and Sargent O'Hooligan.

However that night they are still bombarded by explosions from Nazi forces, caused by some new secret weapon. While ducking down in their fox holes, Combat and Cookie spots miniature tanks rolling around. The pair decide to follow them to their source and find that the Nazis are loading the radio controlled devices and rolling them at Allied forces. The pair then rush the Nazi soldiers at the control and use the device to reroute all the enemy tanks into blowing up the nearby Nazi base.
