After a massive explosion in the middle of Paris France, SHIELD sends their agent Molly Fitzgerald to investigate the situation. She arrives on the scene, she meets with Detective Doinel and asks to see the bodies of those responsible. Doinel thinks that the Hulk was active in Paris. But when Fitzgerald sees the bodies of the two gamma irradiated agents of Nikoleta Harrow. She corrects him, saying that these creatures are not the Hulk. She then learns that the third man responsible has been sequestered in a hotel undergoing renovations as per her instructions. As he leads her there, he assures her that they have followed all her security instructions to the letter. However, when they arrive out front of the hotel it suddenly explodes, and a ship flies out from the rubble. Fitzgerald immediately radios Maria Hill to report and alpha level emergency, telling them that she has just lost Bruce Banner. Aboard the craft, Bruce Banner is a prisoner of Nikoleta Harrow. When she questions him, all he is concerned about is how many people died in the explosion. Upset that he is still suffering from amnesia, she assures Banner that it is in the thousands. With a report that AIM is mobilizing to strike at her, she tells her robots to teleport back to base, regardless of the cost.

However, the teleportation takes a heavy toll on the ship and it begins to crash. She demands that Banner turn into the Hulk, but he tells her that he can't. She begins screaming at him when suddenly a massive mechanical hand rips through the ship and grabs them. It turns out that this is one of her robots and it places them gently on the ground. One of Nikoleta's minions rushes out to tell her that AIM is nearby and they must prepare for battle. She orders the assistant to prepare Banner for the coming fight. They drag Banner into their lab and begin torturing him, but nothing seems to get him angry enough to trigger a transformation into the Hulk. With AIM smashing through their defenses, Nikoleta decides that if they can't control the Hulk they will destroy him instead. To this end, she injects him with a form of the Super Soldier Serum infused with Hulk DNA and locks him in a sensory deprivation tank. Inside the tank, Banner begins to relive the moment on the gamma bomb test site all those years ago. How he shoved Rick Jones out of the way and took the full brunt of the bomb blast. During this hallucination, the atomized form of Bruce Banner is approached by the massive form of the Hulk who tells Banner that he remembers who they are and what is needed now.

The Hulk calls out to Banner to evolve or die, this triggers a transformation into the Hulk. However, much to the surprised of Harrow and her minions, the Hulk grows to gigantic size and begins smashing everything in its path. Nikoleta is prepared to battle the Hulk, but she is amazed when the massive gamma-spawned brute kneels to her out of loyalty. Impressed that her serum worked, she orders the Hulk to smash the AIM troops. Seeing the massive Hulk charging at them, the AIM troops begin to flee.
