Elephant Charge

YACReader - Jungle Action V1 #4 (1955).cbr 2019-09-12 15.46.18.png

Lo-Zar leads a herd of elephants to "elephant heaven" where they can live in peace, unaware that he is being watched by two poachers who seek to find the secluded sanctuary to hunt the beasts. Seeing Lo-Zar as a threat they attempt to shoot him, but the jungle hero avoids the shot and then doubles back to attack.

However, before Lo-Zar can beat up the male of the pair, his female companion tricks Lo-Zar into believing that they are photographers seeking to take pictures of the elephants and that they mistook Lo-Zar for a wild man. Lo-Zar appears to believe them and fights off a massive boa constrictor to bring them to the elephant sanctuary.

There the two "photographers" reveal that they are really poachers who are seeking to collect a bounty of ivory to make money for their Communist benefactors. After one sets up a radio transmitter, the woman tries to shoot Lo-Zar with her gun that is disguised as a camera. However, Lo-Zar -- knowing they were lying all along -- dodges out of the way causing the bullet to strike the radio transmitter. The man tries to flee into the jungle but is slain by the boa. Soon the communists land in a helicopter and Lo-Zar commands the elephants to trample them to death, ending their threat.
