Kid Colt, Trapped!

Kid Colt figures he’s found the ideal place to hideout when suddenly, the sheriff comes in and says that he has heard Kid Colt is in town. After getting a description, the bartender tells the sheriff that he hasn’t seen anyone who looks like that. Once the sheriff is gone, the bartender and his patrons lock up the bar intent on capturing Kid Colt and claiming the reward. However, Kid Colt refuses to go down without a fight. After fighting his way through the men, he runs up to where the rooms are. At first, they think Kid Colt is making a run for it, but he then turns around and leaps down the stairs, bowling them all over. After knocking out the rest of the reward hungry patrons, Kid Colt steals one of their clothes. On his way out, the Kid tells the sheriff there’s something going on in the saloon and makes his escape.

Guns Roar in Reo Mesa!

As he enters the town of Rio Mesa, Kid Colt witnesses the Barrow gang trashing the local paper and flee. When Dave Harper, the owner of the paper, learns what happened and that nobody tried to stop them he becomes very angry. However, the locals point out that they aren’t fighters and tells Harper that he made himself a target for publishing news stories against the gang. When one of the locals tries to get physical with Dave, Kid Colt steps in and pushes him into a horse trough.

Offering his aid, Kid Colt and Dave Harper go into his office to talk about what can be done. After assessing the damage, Kid Colt learns that the town hasn’t been able to find someone who could be a suitable sheriff for the town. Kid Colt offers to clean up the town if the locals agree to make him a temporary sheriff. However, Dave quickly turns on him when he introduces himself as Kid Colt and the Kid is forced to flee the scene or get shot with Harper’s shotgun.

Leaving town, Kid Colt wishes there was more that he could do but accepts that Dave Harper doesn’t want his help. He changes his mind when he sees Barrow Gang heading back to town. Kid Colt arrives just in time to save Dave Harper from getting attacked by the gang. The two work together to and they toss the outlaws out of town. Later, the newspaper office is repaired and Dave Harper is elected sheriff. Harper apologizes for judging the Kid based on rumor and thanks him for his help.

When the Kid Lost a Gunfight!

Kid Colt has just evaded a posse but as he rounds the corner he runs into a sheriff and immediately surrenders. That’s when the sheriff — Jed Lawson — tells him that he doesn’t draw his guns anymore as he has lost his nerves. When Kid Colt’s can’t believe this, the sheriff tells him to come to Sagebrush and see for himself. Sure enough, when Kid Colt arrives in town he finds that it has been overrun with lawlessness.

When one of the outlaws tries to make Kid Colt “dance” by shooting at his feet, Kid Colt fearlessly kicks the gun out of his hand and stand then draws his own. Seeing the Kid Colt’s fancy shooting makes them realize that they are dealing with Kid Colt. He’s welcome and told that they can do whatever they want in town and Sheriff Jed Lawson won’t do a thing. Deciding to do something about this situation, Kid Colt yanks Lawson off his horse and goads him into a gunfight. This angers the sheriff enough to draw his guns and Kid Colt allows him to wing him in the arm. Seeing the sheriff suddenly stand up to Kid Colt scares all the outlaws away. Satisfied that Sheriff Jeb Lawson has found his nerve again, Kid Colt promises not to come back and rides out of town.
