The leader of the Mean Mimues has called a meeting of his gang to go over their defeats at the hands of Spider-Man. Showing them news stories of their defeats puts the gang members into a fit of rage. However, when he presents a drawing of Spider-Man being hung from a noose prompts them all to cheer.[1]

Meanwhile, Peter Parker is heading back to his apartment with a stack of books when he’s tripped up by Barker, the dog owned by his neighbor Caryn Earle carrying a clothesline of her underwear in his mouth. When Caryn arrives moments later, Peter points her in the direction her dog went before collecting his books and returning to his apartment. Opening his fridge for something to eat, Peter ignores the lone piece of cheese sitting on a plate.[2]

However, Peter is unable to focus on his work and decides to go out web-slinging as Spider-Man. Outside, Caryn is still chasing Barker around the block. Soon, Spider-Man’s spider-sense goes off, drawing him to a pair of mimes mugging a couple and their baby. However, this turns out to be a trap set by the mean Mimes and Spider-Man quickly finds himself evading the gunfire from an ambush. Spider-Man makes short work of these Mimes. That’s when their leader arrives in a tank forcing Spider-Man to flee. The Mimes follow after him, engaging in a brief drag race with Brothers Ian and Richard at an intersection before continuing their chase.[3]

Spider-Man then leads the Mean Mines to the Acme Plexiglass factory and while the Mimes are busy keeping the police at bay, Spider-Man goes inside to fashion a trap for the villains. Once he is done, Spider-Man lures the villains into the factory where he traps them in a large plexiglass box. When the police finally arrest them, the leader of the Mimes tries to explain that Spider-Man was responsible for their defeat, but because he can’t talk the police don’t understand. Adding to his frustration, Spider-Man has left before he can point him out to police officers.

By the time Peter has returned home, Caryn and Barker have returned to their apartment where both have fallen asleep after an exhausting chase. When Peter tries to mark papers he falls asleep himself.
