Royal Turmoil

At the offices of Beauty Magazine, Della Mason eavesdrops on a conversation between her employer, Whitney Hammond, and her rival Venus. Whitney tells Venus that the ocean liner Blue Star is coming to port and is carrying a very important passenger on board, he wants Venus that he has arranged for a photo to be taken of this passenger and Venus to boost circulation. Unfortunately, they are speaking too quietly for Della to hear who this passenger is.

Later that day when Venus asks Della to look up when the Blue Star is arriving, Della decides to give Venus the wrong arrival time and port. Venus decides this gives her enough time to do some shopping first. By four o’clock that afternoon, Venus has not returned and Whitney Hammond is furious. When Venus does return he is mad when he sees that she has been shopping. However, she did complete the assignment, showing him that she got her picture taken with the Prince of Jugobia, one of the most wealthy and hardest to reach men. Although this wasn’t who Hammond wanted, this rare photo will be a huge exclusive to the magazine. That’s when Della enters the office, she went ahead and got her photo with the original guest, which turns out to be a famous lion, much to her chagrin.
