They Strike From Space!

Hercules and Thor appear in Olympus after the thunder god saved Herc from an eternity in Hades. Hercules is glad to be back home and instantly gets into an argument with Ares, the god of war. Thor decides he has enough enemies and decides not to get involved. He has more important things on his mind anyway, such as convincing Odin to finally allow him to marry Jane Foster.

Little does he know that, back on Earth, Jane has been compelled by her roommate to leave New York and head somewhere far away. This roommate, Tana Nile, now has the apartment to her self, and decides it is time to drop her human disguise. Tana Nile is a Rigellian colonizer who has conquer the Earth. Contacting her masters back on Rigel, she informs them that she wants to stake a claim on planet Earth. The head of the claims division insists on sending inspectors to examine the planet and confirm he claim. She tries to tell him that it is not necessary, but two inspectors are sent anyway.

Meanwhile, Thor has returned to Asgard and interrupts a game of celestial chess to ask Odin for permission to marry Jane Foster. Odin decides to finally allow his son to marry the mortal woman he has come to love. Thor is so happy that he leaves before Odin can explain his conditions. After Thor has left, Odin hopes that his son will find happiness but fears that it will be forever denied to the god of thunder.

Thor returns to Earth and as he approaches Jane Foster’s apartment he is spotted by the Rigellian claim inspectors who blast him with one of their weapons. Although the inspectors believe they are invincible against the thunder god, Tana Nile warns them that Thor is more powerful than he appears. When Thor climbs into the apartment and demands to know what happened to Jane Foster, Tana Nile uses her mental powers to force him to his knees. She then explains that she went Jane away in the hopes of sending Thor on a wild goose chase while she secured her claim over the planet Earth. She explains how she will announce her dominion over the planet Earth on the United Nations, explaining that any resistance to her take over will be met by using the Rigellian space lock which will allow her to move the Earth closer or father away from the sun to affect the climate and eliminate any opposition.[1]

By this time, Thor is starting to resist Tana Nile’s mental attacks. The inspectors then trap him in a prison made of solidified proton particles. Thor decides to allow this to happen in order to bide his time and see where his captors take him. The inspectors then give Tana Nile a wrist-control device for the space lock, telling her that her claim has been accepted. The inspectors then take the imprisoned Thor out onto their ship that has been cloaked on the roof of Jane’s apartment building the whole time. As they head back to Rigel, Thor decides he has been imprisoned long enough and uses Mjolnir to break free from his prison.

Meanwhile, Tana Nile uses her wrist-controller to activate the space lock and point it at the planet Earth. By this time, Thor has overpowered the inspectors and decides to let the ship continue on its present course so he can shut down the space lock and save the Earth.

Recurring Characters

Thor, Tana Nile, Hercules, Ares, Jane Foster, Odin

Continuity Notes

  1. Tana Nile imagines what her take over of her Earth would look like. This actually happens in an alternate reality designated Earth-66381 per the Appendix to the Handbook to the Marvel Universe. I don’t think it’s been published in any Official Handbooks at the time I have written this (March, 2021) but I could be wrong.

The Warlock’s Eye!

Thor and the Warriors Three have come to Muspelheim to take the Warlock’s Eye from Harokin’s armies. Discovering he resembles Harokin, Thor has disguised himself as the warrior in order to trick his men into handing over the weapon they seek.

Taken to the scene where Fandral and Hogun are still fighting, Thor tells Harokin’s men to bring him the Warlock’s Eye. Two of the men go to recover the weapon from its hiding place, unaware that they have passed Volstagg who has been hiding in a barrel this whole time. Volstagg breaks free from the barrel and follows after them. He ambushes the two men and uses the Warlock’s Eye to incapacitate the army that is still fighting Fandral and Hogun.

When Volstagg then threatens to use the weapon against “Harokin”, Thor drops reveals that he was in disguise. With the battle over and the Warlock’s Eye in their possession, Thor now wonders what will become of the real Harokin.
