Answering Odin’s cry for help, Thor venture into the World Beyond to assist his father against the mysterious entity known as Infinity. As he crosses the dimensional barrier, he thinks of the events leading up to this moment and how Infinity threatens to consume the entire universe. When the thunder god appears in the World Beyond, he is confronted by Infinity’s four-armed guardian. The pair are evenly matched, but the Guardian succumbs to fear when Thor continues to utter Infinity’s name.

Summoned to this location, the mysterious Infinity appears and slays the Guardian for failing him. Thor demands to know where his father is, but Infinity ignores this request. Thor then watches helplessly as Infinity claims another world before receding back into the World Beyond. Thor presses forward ever further until he comes upon the Silent One, the mysterious entity that appeared at the start of Infinity’s attack on the universe. Thor demands answers and tries to attack the Silent One, but the entity rebuffs his attack. The stranger then silently shows Thor what happens to each world consumed by Infinity: Although they survived its inhabitants become mindless slaves loyal to the entity.

That’s when the Warriors Three emerge from the swirling mists. Enthralled by Infinity, the trio begin attacking Thor. Not willing to harm his friends, Thor cannot break Infinity’s spell. Instead, he uses Mjolnir to summon a vortex that returns Fandral, Hogun, and Volstagg to Asgard where they might be saved. As the trio appears on the Bifrost Bridge, Odin’s Vizier shows Sif that the Odin-Sword continues to slowly pull out of its scabbard, threatening to bring about Ragnarok.

While elsewhere in the World Beyond, Odin continues his mystical battle against his unseen foe. As the Silent One watches from the sidelines, Odin and Infinity unleash enough power to shatter worlds. The destruction caused by Infinity’s attack has far reaching consequences across the universe. At an Earth observatory, scientists are shocked to discover they are witnessing the destruction of solar systems light years away in real time by some quirk of fate and fear they may be watching the end of all existence. While all over the planet Earth, storms and other natural disasters rage causing untold destruction.

Elsewhere, Thor waits for Mjolnir to return to him but it does not arrive within the 60 second limit and he reverts back to Don Blake. Now in his mortal form, Blake is horrified when the Guardian comes back to life. Blake finds himself in an impossible situation: He can’t leave before Mjolnir returns from its trip to Asgard but if he stays, he will die.
