Battle Brady and Socko Swenski are assigned on a mission to capture a Chinese soldier. Swenski questions why Battle volunteered for the job, and Battle states that he wanted to make sure that Swenski stays alive long enough to pay him back the 97 dollars that he owes him. However before their usual shouting match over the money can begin, they spot a group of Chinese soldiers camping out for the night and attack them. They slay all the soldiers except for one, but unfortunately for them he only speaks Chinese and they cannot get any information out of him. Before they can take him back to base, the Chinese soldier then jumps off a cliff to his death, preferring suicide to betraying his fellow troops.

However, they find a clue to what the soldier might be trying to find when they spot hoof prints on the ground. Following the prints they uncover a secret cave where a horse corral has been set up. They then drag the dead bodies out of sight and put on the Chinese uniforms in order to wait out in plain sight for the commanding officer in charge of this secret base returns. Sure enough the leader returns with a whole troop on horseback and the pair realize that these men have been responsible for all the secret raids that have happened.

They wait until the soldiers go into the hidden cave, and then Battle uses his guns to frighten the horses. When the horses bolt, the soldiers come running out and the two Americans trip some of them over the cliff and gun down all but the commanding officer. The commander tries to flee on a horse, but before Socko can shoot him Battle holds him back and chases after the communist on a horse of his own. Battle's superior horse riding skills allow him to catch up to the Chinese soldier and jump him. Battle then rides back with the soldier walking beside him tied up where he reunites with Socko who has rounded up all the survivors to bring back to base for questioning.

Battle Brady

Battle Brady and Socko Swenski have been captured by communist forces and are being forced to fight each other for their amusement. However, the two are putting on an act and they quietly formulate a plan to get out of their situation. Battle purposely knocks Swenski into the commanding officer and Socko manages to grab his gun. With their commanding officer being held hostage, the Chinese soldiers surrender.

Battle and Socko then begin to plan to round up the surrendered soldiers and bring them back to base as prisoners when they spot a large heap of land mines. Suddenly, the commanding officer makes a break for it and before the two Americans can stop him, he dives onto the land mines -- killing himself in a massive explosion. This causes distraction for the Chinese soldiers to spring for their guns.

Battle and Socko use their guns to provide cover fire until they can climb into a nearby truck and try to drive away. However the truck proves to be too slow to get out of range of the enemy gun fire and eventually breaks down. Out of ammo, the two grunts believe they are doomed when Battle finds that the flat-bed of the truck is loaded with landmines. They begin lobbing the landmines like bowling balls at the Chinese soldiers, blowing them to smitheries.

In the aftermath of the battle, Brady and Swenski once more begin arguing over the 97 dollars that Swenski owes to Battle.
