The Black Knight

Mordred's mind is destroyed by his own spell, leaving the mystic confused by his surroundings. The Black Knight prepares to strike Mordred down with his sword, but some inner voice prevents him from doing so. Merlyn tells the Knight that it is the voice of Excalibur itself, as the fabled sword will not strike down a helpless opponent.

With Modred’s defeat, is spells soon begin to lose their potency and soon Moondog and his fellow Elvin archers are freed from the creepers that had previously incapacitated them. Finally free, Moondog begins searching the forest so he can learn the fate of his friend, Captain Britain. Along the way he crosses paths with Mordred who appears to have rapidly aged by forty years making him an elderly man. When Moondog finds Merlyn and the Black Knight they explain that Mordred was undone by his own evil spells.

They then tend to Captain Britain who was injured in the battle. Soon Captain Britain wakes up from a dream where he was swept into the jaws of death. Marlyn calms Brian, telling him that his dreams are over and the danger is gone and now that everything is all over he can finally reveal the secret he has kept for so long.
